Our approach

A clear price and a working result at every step

You should never have to wonder what you're paying for or whether it works. Every engagement has small steps, written acceptance criteria and a price agreed before work starts.

  1. Phase 1: Consultation

    30 minutes, free

We talk about the problem, the people it affects, the systems involved and any deadline. You'll get an honest view of whether we're a good fit, even if the answer is no.

    What you get

    • A short written summary
    • Our suggested first step
  2. Phase 2: Discovery

    Usually 1–2 weeks, fixed price

For anything beyond a small, well-understood job, we run a short paid discovery: interviews, a look at your systems and data, and a prototype of the riskiest part.

    What you get

    • Requirements and acceptance criteria
    • Architecture and data-flow diagrams
    • A milestone plan with a fixed price for each
  3. Phase 3: Delivery

    Milestone by milestone

We build in short increments on your staging environment. At each milestone you review working software against the acceptance criteria you agreed, and sign it off before we move on. Automated tests and deployment pipelines run from the first day.

    What you get

    • A review and sign-off at every milestone
    • A weekly written update
    • A shared, visible backlog
  4. Phase 4: Handover and support

    Your choice

We finish with documentation, a recorded walkthrough and training for whoever will own the system. Then optional support: a monthly retainer, ad-hoc help, or nothing at all.

    What you get

    • Runbooks and architecture documents
    • Your team trained
    • A warranty period on delivered work
Pricing

We price the outcome, not the hours

Each milestone has a fixed price, agreed in writing and tied to acceptance criteria you sign off. If it takes us longer than we estimated, that's our cost, not yours.

Engagements start from around £5,000. Most begin with a short paid discovery or a single, well-defined piece of work.

Where work genuinely can't be scoped up front, such as open-ended support, we offer a capped time-and-materials arrangement and bill only the time actually worked.

In every proposal, in writing

  • Milestones with written acceptance criteria
  • A fixed price for each milestone, agreed before work starts
  • Overruns are our cost, not yours
  • Stop after any milestone and keep everything built so far
  • Code, designs, data and accounts are yours from day one
  • Accessible (WCAG 2.2 AA) and secure by default

What every project includes

  • Accessibility

WCAG 2.2 AA as our build standard, checked with keyboards and screen readers, not only automated tools.

  • Security

Threat modelling for anything sensitive, least-privilege access, dependency scanning, and secrets kept out of code.

  • Data protection

UK GDPR-aware design: data minimisation, retention rules, and processing only where you've agreed it.

  • Quality

Automated tests, code review on every change, and deployment pipelines you can see and run yourself.

  • Ownership

Your repository, your cloud account, your domain. Components we reuse are licensed to you permanently.

  • Transparency

Every demo and update says plainly what's real, what's simulated and what's still to build.

Working with us day to day

  • Our home base

Our home base is London, United Kingdom. We work with clients across the UK, Ireland and Europe.

  • In your tools

Your repository, your cloud account, your issue tracker. You can see everything we do.

  • A weekly written update

What we did, what's next, any risks, and where the current milestone stands.

  • Direct access

Our delivery lead is accountable for every engagement, and you can talk to the engineers directly.

Let's discuss what you need

A free 30-minute consultation with the people who would do the work. We'll tell you plainly whether we're the right firm for it, and what a fixed-price first step would look like.
